Rare Coffees and Producer Series Bags
Posted by Andrew Villa on 22nd Jun 2014
It's one of our favorite times of the year right now. The Central America coffees that we love are trickling in. These coffees are special to the Chromatic Family because of our relationship to them, and because of that we're kicking it off with our producer series bags. Hiver, our green buyer, head roaster and graphic artist, has put in extra time to dial im the graphics for these coffees. Each one hand drawn, dedicated to the individuals, and the hard work that our producers put into creating exceptional crops. The first in this series comes from Don Victor Romero's lovely farm in Costa Rica, named La Maria.
Last year we had the pleasure of buying all of this coffee that came into the US(around 15 bags) and we committed to buying the entire lot for 2014, a decision we're incredibly happy about. This coffee possesses a lovely peach and caramel fragrance when first ground. As you brew you'll be greeted with cherries in the bloom. Upon first sip, peaches and a light tangerine acidity play with a decadent creaminess. In the body there is a presence of green apple, Peruvian single origin chocolate, and a buttery finish.
Stay tuned for the rest of the bags, and thanks for supporting these farmers and all the hard work they do.
